Researcher logon

Introduction

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, is the most common type of motor neuron disease. When the motor neuron lesions occur, the patients would suffered from invasion of the respiratory system, paralysis of the limbs and difficulties in breathing. The disease is with high mortality and no effective treatment.

Chinese ALS Research (ChALSR) is a national multi-center research network focusing on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The researchers included experts in clinical practice, imaging and pathology, as well as other scientists in the field of statistics, genetics, immunology, and the internet. The research results will promote the research of ALS in China, and provide a new impetus for clinical diagnosis and treatment in ALS.

The site is also the PACTALS China Center website.

PACTALS

The Pan-Asian Consortium for Treatment and Research in ALS (PACTALS) was established in December, 2014. The concept is similar to other regional existing Consortia namely the North-East Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (NEALS) in the United States and European Network for the Cure of ALS (ENCALS). PACTALS represents a large patient population and very active research groups in the Asia – Pacific region.
